about

The music was conceived close to the time of my daughter’s birth, and I wanted to encourage her to dream by writing a lullaby. Not to be lulled asleep from the harsh reality that accompanies this world, but rather for chaos to be known so peace may be found. While listening to music, my past experiences that were most poignant were when I was lured to sleep only to be awakened a short time later by a chord or dynamic change. Music awakens the humanity in us, and hope is near when beauty is understood to cohabitate in the same space as the dark. So I wrote a series of dream pieces that would reflect discovery amid aging destruction.

Following the contour of Psalm 139, the music starts with the micro view of a singular character. Then, shifting to the macro perspective of society teetering at the end of decadence, the strength of parents to free their children into the abyss of their potential destruction. Is the journey for a home enough to console the individual when what is left are the memories of a time that will not exist again?

Music also available in Dolby Atmos versions on Apple Music and Tidal.
